OTHER IRELAND

This is a love story to Ireland.

To the weddings that choose the wilder path. Not every Irish celebration is framed in ivy and chandeliers. Some are carved into sea cliffs, carried on the wind, and lit by the hush of golden hour.

But there is another Ireland, one that is untamed, elemental, and impossibly romantic.

The Story Behind The Editorial

This shoot was born from a moment of stillness on Inishbofin Island, a windswept Easter weekend that stirred something deep inside me. I set out to reimagine what an Irish wedding could look like: not polished or palatial, but raw, poetic, and rooted in place.

With Yolan Cris gowns styled by Sinéad Corcoran and a soul-stirring film by Aryio Weddings, the vision came to life, elemental, untamed, and full of quiet power.

Black and white photo of a bride in a wedding dress with a long veil standing on a beach, facing a groom in a suit. The groom is looking towards the water, while the bride faces away. The beach is decorated with flowers, and rocks and hills are visible in the background under a cloudy sky.
A table decorated with flowers, shells, and other items set up on the sandy beach near the water, possibly for a celebration or ceremony, with the ocean and cloudy sky in the background.
A couple in wedding attire standing barefoot on a beach, surrounded by white flowers, with the ocean in the background.
Two people in white clothing walking on a grassy hill during sunset with rocky formations in the background and lens flare effects.
A woman in an elaborate white dress standing outdoors on a rocky hill beside water during sunset.

BRINGING the story to life

The story came fully alive through movement by Aryio Weddings, whose film captured not just the aesthetic, but the soul. There’s a quiet intensity in Aryio’s cinematography, and in this piece, he distilled the emotion of the day with incredible clarity.

There’s a kind of romance here that can’t be staged. The cliffs, the silence, the way the light moves, it’s Ireland at its most honest.

The Seaside Tablescape

Set where land meets tide, this tablescape was a quiet homage to the raw, untamed beauty of Inishbofin. Hand-thrown Irish pottery anchored each place setting with tactile warmth, while custom shell-embroidered napkins and foraged florals echoed the surrounding landscape. Raw linen moved with the sea breeze, and glassware caught the light like tidepools at dusk. The stationery, delicate and deliberate, was designed to feel personal – intimate gestures on paper. Every detail whispered rather than shouted – as though the ocean had laid the table herself.

The team

Bringing this editorial to life was deeply personal, not only for the vision it held, but for the people who gave it shape.

It was a privilege to gather such a talented and generous group of creatives, each one pouring their artistry into something that felt truly meaningful. To see an idea not just realised, but elevated, that is a rare gift.

A heartfelt thank you to Inishbofin House Hotel for their warmth and hospitality, and to the kind souls on the island who helped us move gear, navigate wild terrain, and made us feel at home.
This shoot could not have happened without your spirit.
